The 160 square kilometers of the Principality
of Liechtenstein are home to some 34,000 inhabitants. That makes it the
fourth smallest country in Europe. But it has a highly developed economy,
with a total of 28,000 employees working in a wide range of businesses,
including 53.3 % in retail and the service sector, 45.2 % in trade and industry,
and 1.3 % in forestry and agriculture. The Principality of Liechtenstein is a constitutional hereditary monarchy on a democratic and parliamentary basis. Sovereignty is exercised jointly by the Prince and the people. |
